St. Frances Cabrini Band Lessons
Dear Parents,
A course in band is offered at St. Frances Cabrini School to students in grades five through eight. This program is offered to students who have previous experience, as well as those who want to start as a beginner.
Individual or small group lessons will be held during the school day. The lesson schedule will rotate so that a student isn’t always missing the same class. Accommodations can be made if there is a certain class that students should not miss for academic reasons. Each lesson will be 30 minutes in length.
Group band will meet once a week during flex period. Beginning students will be allowed to participate in group band once they have gotten far enough in their lesson book.
At the end of this current school year, students will learn about the various band instruments that are available. In the fall, there will be an informational meeting for parents where students can try out various instruments. Options for beginning instruments include flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, and percussion. It is the parent’s responsibility to rent or purchase an instrument for his/her child to play in the band. You may rent from any store. I can recommend White House of Music in West Bend. If you already own an instrument, please have it looked over by me or by a music store to ensure that it is in good working condition.
There is a $20 fee per weekly lesson for each student enrolled in band lessons. This is to be paid monthly in advance. If a student is absent from school, that lesson will be credited to the next month.
If you have any questions about the band program, or if you would like your student to start a band instrument in this current school year, please contact me. I will arrange a time to meet with your student during the school day to show them the various instruments and help them determine what instrument may suit them best.
Thank you.
