Adoration Challenge - What It Is:
One of the strongest ways to deepen our intimacy with our Lord is through Eucharistic Adoration. Inspired by this year's Eucharistic Revival, we've issued a challenge to our school families and staff to take an hour, sometime during the year, to pray in our Adoration Chapel. Adoration, as a reminder, is spending time in prayer with the real presence of Jesus, exposed to all in the Chapel through the monstrance.
With adoration, we have the opportunity to spend time with Jesus, face to face, in prayer. You do not need to be Catholic to pray in our Adoration Chapel. We ask that families pray for the staff of the school at some point in that hour. The staff, when they pray, will be praying for our school families. If we, as a Cabrini community, are praying for each other, we are setting ourselves up for success, and setting a good example for the children.
Helpful Tips From Past Participants:
So far we have had many families sign up and pray an adoration hour, and here are some great tips, to help your adoration time go well for your family:
Relax! There are no requirements for adoration besides spending time with God.
Give your worries, fears, anger, etc. to God. He knows what to do with them.
Bring some different reading material that leads you down your faith journey.
Or, bring ear buds and let Hallow lead your prayer.
Use the Focus feature to turn off all notifications on your phones for that hour.
It will take 5-15 minutes to get used to the silence. Just keep bringing your thoughts back to God as you get distracted.
Reflections from Families On the Adoration Experience:
Our hope rests in the Lord!
Lord it is good that we are here! Mt 17:4
Bring your kids and say to God, "God, I am here. I brought these children to you."
Please sign up and learn to rest in the Lord and listen to him in the silence!
Our Adoration Chapel is open from 7pm on Sunday evenings until 8am on Saturday mornings. The Chapel doors are unlocked from 7am to 7pm daily. For the remainder of the hours each day, a code is needed to enter the chapel. Contact the Saint Frances Cabrini parish office about the code.
