Meet the Szymanski Family, who are in our Volunteer Spotlight today:
Who is in the family? Parents: Chris and Amanda, and kids Henry, Isla, Noah and Evelyn
What do you enjoy about volunteering at SFC? My husband Chris and I were newer to Cabrini and really wanted to meet new people and feel a sense of community. Volunteering for events and committees such as the annual Auction, Seton Committee, School Advisory Board, coaching basketball, and being room parents has allowed us to meet new people and to find new friends. Coming from a public school community, where it was tough to find friends, I can't begin to explain how rewarding it is to feel like you finally belong. We believe we have found that with Cabrini.
What you like best about Cabrini? Community. Community can be found in both the school and parish. There are many parish events such as the parish picnic, Haiti spaghetti dinner, Seton school community events and many more that help us foster this sense of community.
Other thoughts? It's a pleasure bringing our kids up in the faith that Chris and I were brought up in and grow in every day. We attend mass weekly and participate in Rooted, which is an added free resource for Cabrini families. There are so many opportunities to join and Cabrini continues to add. We are so very grateful to be apart of the Cabrini family.
